Projects and initiatives

The SPACE4GEO Large-scale Skills Partnership is actively involved in promoting and advancing skills development and capacity building through the direct implementation of projects and initiatives and through the collaboration with existing complementary ones.

SpaceSUITE builds on the success and experience of EO4GEO, updating the body of knowledge of Earth Observation and Geo-information, expanding it to the fields of Positioning Navigation and Timing and Satellite Communication.

EO4GEO aimed to bridge the skills gap between the supply and demand of education and training in the space/geospatial sectors, fostering the uptake and integration of space/geospatial data and services in a broad range of application domains.

GIS4Schools aims at promoting a new innovative approach to foster the teaching of STEAM subjects in secondary schools. This objective will be achieved by allowing pupils to learn about GIS technology and how to use GIS to respond to climate change challenges.

The ASTRAIOS project will identify the existing space-related education and training across Europe, project future demand for space skills from the European space industry, and identify actions to align and improve the career pathways into the sector.

UNIVERSEH is an alliance of five young and mature universities from five European countries. It was established in November 2020 to develop a new way of collaboration in the field of Space, within the new “European Universities” initiative promoted by the European Commission.
