About PLUS
Paris Lodron University Salzburg PLUS is the largest educational institution in Salzburg with almost 18,000 students and around 2,900 employees in research, teaching and administration.
The Department of Geoinformatics is part of the Faculty of Digital and Analytics Sciences (DAS) which integrates the university’s competences in the digital and analytical sciences with a coherent structure featuring four departments: Artificial Intelligence & Human Interfaces, Computer Science, Geoinformatics, and Mathematics.
We actively reach out to the public as well as regional and local authorities through the iDEAS:lab. Faculty and Department play an active role in numerous (most interdisciplinary) research projects and degree programs and thus contribute to a university profile marked by digitalization, cooperation, and interdisciplinarity. The Christian Doppler Lab for Geospatial Information for Humanitarian Action is one example to mention in this context.
Pursuing the vision of a European University, we also engage in the CIVIS network, particularly in the challenge area of digital and technological transformation.
